VSAN FOR BLACK LIVES MATTER & ABOLITION

I organize a group of translators to provide Vietnamese-language materials and toolkits relating to the movement for justice and liberation of Black people, and especially the call for prison and police abolition. With the goal of creating access directly from the abolitionists, our translations have been republished by Vietnamese newspapers with a national audience in the U.S.

Summer 2020, in the wake of the global pandemic and in light of the Black Lives Matter movement, I spearheaded a call to action amongst nonblack academics to provide material support for Black academics who are facing structural violence in intimate ways. The call to action was echoed in The Professor is In amongst other Academic Facebook groups and on Twitter.
